When we travel, we usually don't use the big main roads and freeways. Instead we take some nice country roads. This way you see more of country and people. Here we got through the village of Plessix-Balisson, south of Lancieux.

"Plessix-Balisson is one of the smallest communes of France with only 8.5 ha (85 000 square meters). The houses' gardens are actually not in Plessix-Balisson but in Ploubalay.

It has a very famous and glorious history when in the middle age (12th century) the Sir Balusson's authority was underruling a very large area up to Cancale: he was the only one to settle conflicts etc... in the area... You can see in the main houses of the village some very old stones coming from the original castle which was built in the village and which was destroyed by a fire in the old days.

Nowadays Plessix-Balisson is a wonderful small village with only 90 inhabitants. We have a mayor and 9 counselors. In the recent past there was a school for children but there was also several bakeries, shops and... 6 bars!!... There is still one excellent restaurant (traditional family cooking) and a bar."
